Desks that exclude what you don't want, and a setup that gets out of your way — Everything since 2 August

TL;DR

The biggest change is in how a desk decides what to show you. A disqualifier naming a kind of employer — “public hospitals”, “labour hire firms” — now keeps those companies out of Discovery entirely. Previously exclusions were matched against the job ad’s title alone, so a rule like that quietly did nothing.

The Talent Pool drawer gains two sections: Prospects for shortlisted candidates, and New Leads for role ads at companies not yet on your desk — add or dismiss without leaving the drawer.

Setting up is faster and less confusing. A new desk now says “Classifying…” while it sorts companies, rather than showing every segment at zero and looking broken. Your business context is written through the vertical you actually chose. And you can Keep, Pass and confirm fit on your desk straight away — those never spent anything, but they used to be locked behind email verification, which meant the first screen you saw was also the first thing you were refused.

Campaigns complete and archive themselves, a launch checklist blocks half-built sequences from going live, and out-of-office replies no longer count as someone replying to you.

Credit costs for several AI actions changed on 13 August — see the separate Credit changes notice for the full list.

Desk targeting and lead quality

  • Disqualifiers exclude company types — a disqualifier naming a kind of employer (“public hospitals”, “labour hire firms”, “superannuation-only providers”) now keeps those companies out of Discovery. Exclusions were previously matched against the job ad’s title only, so these rules had no effect at all.
  • One ad, one company — name variants (“Lincon Builders” and “Lincon Building Group”) now resolve to a single record instead of producing duplicate lead cards.
  • Anonymous job ads cost you nothing — ads hiding the employer behind “Private Advertiser” or “Confidential” no longer create a company card, and contact enrichment skips them.
  • Stale signals stay out of the opener — a buying signal older than 12 months is kept as background on the company, but is no longer used as the opening line of an outreach email.
  • DAYS LIVE chips filter the signal cards — and the row has moved up beside segment and location, so you can narrow to what is fresh without scrolling.
  • Honest desk feedback — a new desk says “Classifying…” while it sorts companies into segments, instead of showing every segment at zero. Scrape history now shows how many roles your exclude keywords removed, and the free desk diagnostic flags a monitored role that is the generic form of a keyword you already search.

Talent Pool drawer

  • Prospects section — shortlisted candidates appear in their own section inside the drawer, with paging and a prompt when you have not shortlisted anyone yet.
  • New Leads feed — role ads at companies not yet on your desk surface in the drawer. Add the company or dismiss the lead without leaving the page.
  • Rename and archive from the header — both actions moved into the drawer header, so you can tidy profiles without navigating away.
  • Sort by Last Touch — the Talent Pool table sorts by most recent interaction, keeping active profiles at the top.

Getting started

  • Triage your desk before verifying your email — Keep, Pass and confirming fit are free actions, but they used to sit behind email verification along with everything else. Since we run your first scrape before you reach your desk, that meant the first screen you saw was also the first thing you were refused. They now work immediately. Anything that spends — enrichment, AI generation, scrapes — still asks you to verify first.
  • Your business context follows your vertical — if you set up as a B2B seller, your seller profile is now written that way. It previously assumed a recruitment agency regardless, which could produce a profile describing a business you do not run.
  • Drafting a desk no longer stalls — desk drafting could run long enough to be cut off mid-generation and report a connection error. It now completes inside its budget, and if something does go wrong the message says what actually happened.
  • Desk generation through the AI assistant — returns a profile id straight away and builds in the background with a status you can poll, instead of running long enough that some assistants gave up and reported a failure while the desk was in fact being built.

Campaigns and replies

  • Campaigns complete and auto-archive — when every enrolment finishes, the campaign moves to “completed” and archives in the catalogue. Re-enrolling contacts revives it.
  • Launch checklist — activation is blocked until the campaign has content, at least one active inbox, and enrolled contacts, so half-built sequences never go live.
  • Out-of-office is not a reply — an automated “I’m on leave until the 4th” no longer counts as a reply in your rates, and no longer flips an enrolment to replied. Your reply rate may read slightly lower as a result, and it is now the true one.
  • Stop-on-reply honours siblings — a reply on one enrolment is respected by sibling enrolments in the same campaign. Replies on paused enrolments are recorded too.
  • Machine clicks filtered — click tracking now filters machine-generated clicks the way open tracking already did, so open and click rates reflect real engagement.
  • Merge tag spacing — tags written with extra spaces now render instead of appearing raw in the email, and stalled campaigns explain why they stalled.

People, extension and sign-in

  • Notes on the file — a candidate or prospect page shows their notes and lets you edit them. Notes typed on a desk row, appended by the dialler, or carried in by an import all land here, so there is one place to look.
  • LinkedIn Recruiter list pulls — the extension reads Recruiter lists including tenure, industry and open-to-work, and stores Recruiter URLs separately from standard LinkedIn URLs.
  • The extension says what an action costs — before it spends, not after, and your credit balance is now visible in the panel alongside your scrape allowance.
  • Signing in with Microsoft — personal Microsoft accounts and work accounts without a mailbox licence can sign in and link correctly.

Also fixed

  • Job board hiccups are retried instead of ending a whole scrape; the landing page was rebuilt with proof and pricing above the fold, AA-contrast text and over 400 KB of image weight removed; a deleted desk no longer keeps scraping and notifying; and the generation spinner no longer sticks when a task finishes unexpectedly.
