The slowest part of business development is rarely the conversation. It is everything that happens before the conversation: finding the email, checking it will not bounce, tracking down a number, correcting a name that imported as "Jsmith", and filing the person somewhere you will actually see them again.

Done one record at a time, that work eats hours. Done across a selection of 300 people in a single click, it becomes background noise. That is the difference bulk actions make, and it is why they sit at the centre of how most Kolvera users work their lists.

Why per-record admin quietly destroys BD capacity

Recruitment and B2B sales teams both suffer the same structural problem: the volume of records grows faster than the time available to maintain them. Bullhorn's 2025 GRID Industry Trends Report found that the majority of recruitment professionals cite administrative work and data entry as a primary drag on billable activity, with many agencies reporting that consultants spend a significant share of their week on tasks that do not involve talking to a client or candidate.

Bullhorn's 2025 GRID Industry Trends Report identifies administrative work and manual data entry as one of the leading constraints on recruiter productivity, with agencies consistently ranking it among their top operational challenges. Bulk actions attack this directly by applying one instruction, such as email enrichment or verification, across an entire selected list rather than record by record.

The arithmetic is simple. If enriching a single contact takes 40 seconds of clicking, waiting and copying, then 300 contacts takes over three hours. The same selection processed as a bulk job runs while you do something else, and the results land back in the list as they arrive.

What you can run across a selection

Kolvera's bulk actions are available from the People page and across the workspace's list pages. Select the rows you want, choose an action, and it applies to the whole selection. Credit-consuming actions confirm the count and the cost before anything is charged, so there are no surprises when a selection turns out to be larger than you thought.

The actions available on a selection are:

  • Find Email - runs email enrichment across selected people. 2 credits per contact found.
  • Find Phone - runs phone enrichment. Fresh results cost 2 cr, cached company lines cost 1 cr.
  • Verify Email - checks email validity. Free, using your monthly verification allowance.
  • Fix Names - finds and corrects missing or low-quality contact names. Free, no credits charged.
  • Enrol in Campaign - adds the selection to a chosen campaign.
  • Add to Hot List - copies the selection to a Hot List.
  • Add to Desk as Prospect (buyer) - links people to a client Desk as buyer-side prospects.
  • Add to Talent Pool - pools candidates against a client Desk.
  • Make Prospect / Make Candidate - assigns a role, moving people off the Unassigned tab.

Because People merges contacts, prospects and candidates into one list with role tabs, a bulk action can span all three populations at once. Enrich a contact while prospecting and the same number is there when you call them as a candidate, since every person has a single shared detail file at /people/<id>.

Find Email and Verify Email: protecting the sender reputation

Email enrichment searches multiple sources automatically, including public records, company registries, professional networks, company websites and pattern matching. Country-specific sources are used where available, which for Australian tenants means AU company registries feed the result.

Found emails are auto-verified before you are charged. Each one comes back as Valid, Catch-all, Unverified, Unknown, New or Invalid. Invalid addresses are blocked from sending outright, and by default the People and Leads pages hide invalid and unknown emails so your working list stays clean.

Validity's 2025 email deliverability research reports that roughly one in six commercial emails fails to reach the inbox. Kolvera reduces bounce risk by auto-verifying every enriched email before charging, returning a status of Valid, Catch-all, Unverified, Unknown, New or Invalid, and blocking invalid addresses from sending entirely at the campaign layer.

Verify Email as a bulk action is free and draws on your monthly verification allowance. It is the natural step before a campaign enrolment, particularly for records imported by CSV, which arrive with a status of New until checked. You can read more about how this works in our guide to contact enrichment.

Find Phone and the waterfall that prices each result

Phone enrichment runs a waterfall across multiple sources and prices each result by what it actually returns. A fresh direct dial is 2 cr. A fresh company line is 2 cr. A direct dial surfaced from numbers already discovered across the Kolvera network is 2 cr, capped at the fresh direct-dial rate. A cached company line is 1 cr. Numbers already on file, whether stored against the contact or the company, cost nothing at all.

That last category matters more than it sounds. Kolvera runs background jobs that continuously scan for company numbers: email signature mining from connected inboxes, company website scanning, AU business directory checks and business listing lookups. Numbers found this way are cached on the Company record and shared with every contact at that company. Run Find Phone across a selection and a meaningful portion of the results may already be sitting there at 0 cr.

Kolvera's phone enrichment prices each result by type rather than charging a flat rate per lookup. Fresh direct dials and fresh company lines cost 2 credits, cached company lines cost 1 credit, and any number already on file against the contact or company costs zero credits to use. Pro and Scale users on BYOK calling pay zero Kolvera credits for provider-sourced dialling.

Fix Names: the free bulk action most teams forget

Scraped and imported data arrives messy. Fix Names is a free bulk action that finds and corrects missing or low-quality contact names, and it only touches records matching specific patterns: no first name or a single-character first name, a name derived from the email local part such as "Johnsmith" from john.smith@company.com, an initial of one or two uppercase letters, or a generic mailbox like info@, admin@, support@ or apply@.

Contacts with real names are never modified. Where a correct name is found, it is validated against strict rules, and generic results such as "test", "admin" or "company" are rejected automatically. Where no name is found, generic and junk names are cleared to blank, because a blank is better than "Hi Johnsmith" landing in someone's inbox. Campaign emails handle this gracefully: "Hi {first_name}," becomes "Hi there,".

Progress pills, live cells and per-item results

The part that changes how bulk work feels is the feedback. Rather than a spinner and a vague completion message, results update in the cells as each item resolves. You watch the list fill in. Progress is visible at a glance, and per-item results tell you which records found something and which did not.

This matters operationally. If you run Find Email across 200 prospects and 140 return valid addresses, you can select those 140 and enrol them in a campaign immediately, without exporting anything or waiting for a batch report. The next action starts from the result of the last one.

Kolvera bulk actions display progress pills and update result cells in real time as each item resolves, with per-item outcomes shown rather than a single batch summary. This allows operators to chain actions immediately, for example selecting only the contacts that returned a valid email and enrolling that subset into a campaign in the same session.

Chaining bulk actions into a repeatable routine

Most teams settle into a weekly rhythm. Import or scrape a fresh batch, run Fix Names across the lot for free, run Find Email on the selection, verify anything that came in as New or Unverified, run Find Phone on the shortlist you intend to call, then split the results: buyers get Add to Desk as Prospect, talent gets Add to Talent Pool, and the best of both go onto a Hot List that feeds a campaign.

Nothing in that sequence requires opening an individual record. The CRM layer is doing the filing while you stay at list level. For teams running high volumes, the same actions are available through the API v2 and MCP tooling if you would rather trigger them from a script or from Claude.

Credits, cost control and what to select

Every credit-consuming bulk action confirms the count and the cost before charging, and if no contact is found for email enrichment you are not charged. On Pro at A$79/month you get 2,250 credits, and on Scale at A$239/month you get 7,500. See pricing for the full breakdown.

The discipline worth building is selection discipline. Filter first by provider, email status, source or state, then select. Running Find Email across an unfiltered list of 1,000 people when 400 already have valid emails wastes both time and money. The filters above the table exist for exactly this reason.

Frequently asked questions

Which bulk actions in Kolvera are free?

Verify Email is free and uses your monthly verification allowance. Fix Names is free with no credits charged. Enrol in Campaign, Add to Hot List, Add to Desk as Prospect, Add to Talent Pool and Make Prospect / Make Candidate are organisational actions and do not consume enrichment credits. Find Email and Find Phone are the credit-consuming actions.

How much does bulk email enrichment cost?

Find Email costs 2 credits per contact found, regardless of which data source located them. If no contact is found, you are not charged. Verification is bundled into the enrichment cost, so the returned email arrives with a status of Valid, Catch-all, Unverified, Unknown or Invalid already applied.

Will Fix Names overwrite names I have already entered?

No. Fix Names only touches contacts matching defined patterns: no first name, a single-character first name, a name that matches the email local part, an initial of one or two uppercase letters, or a generic mailbox such as info@ or admin@. Contacts with a proper first and last name are skipped entirely.

Can I bulk-add people to a Desk or Talent Pool?

Yes. Add to Desk as Prospect (buyer) links the selection to a client Desk as buyer-side prospects. Add to Talent Pool pools selected candidates against a client Desk. Reverse Market Profiles are built from the Talent Pool using Take to market.

Do I get charged for phone numbers already in the system?

No. Company main lines and any number already stored against the contact or company cost 0 credits to use. Cached company lines discovered across the Kolvera network cost 1 credit. Fresh direct dials and fresh company lines cost 2 credits each.

Try it on your own list

The fastest way to judge bulk actions is to point them at a messy list you already have. Import a CSV, run Fix Names, and see how much of your data was quietly unusable. Book a demo or read more on the Kolvera blog about how AU teams are working their desks.
