Flashback

Search what was said on calls and in meetings — not names or titles, the actual words. Type something you remember being said and Flashback finds who said it, with the quote as the receipt.

What It Searches

Flashback runs over a conversation index built automatically from your recorded activity. Nothing extra to configure — as new calls and meetings are logged, they become searchable.

Call transcripts — word-for-word speech from calls made with the built-in dialler.
Call summaries and notes — the AI summary written after a call, plus any manual notes you typed on the call log.
Meeting summaries and notes — summaries synced from your Fathom meetings, plus your own meeting notes.
Resumes — the text of each candidate's CV, dated to when it was received. A resume hit is a claim from that date, not current truth — treat it as what the candidate said about themselves then, not as a live fact.

Each result card names the person, their title and company, the date, and a snippet showing the matched words in context. Click the name to open their People file.

Said vs Summary

Every result carries one of three badges, and the difference matters:

Said — the match is in verbatim speech. Someone actually said these words on a call.
Summary — the match is in a summary or note about the conversation. The words describe what was discussed, but are not a direct quote.
Resume — the match is in a candidate's CV. It's a dated claim — what the resume said on the date it was received, not necessarily true today.

How to Ask

Flashback is one box with one action. Type your question the way you'd say it and submit — the AI answers at the top of the page, and the matching snippets appear underneath as the evidence behind that answer.

  1. Open Flashback in the sidebar under Find.
  2. Ask in plain language — “who mentioned they're leaving their current role?”, “which client asked about our fees?”, “what did we agree on notice periods?”. If you'd rather just scan, plain keywords work too; the snippets below match the words you give it.
  3. Narrow by time with the All / 7 / 14 / 30 day chips. The chips re-run both the answer and the snippets.

Spelling doesn't have to be perfect — when nothing matches exactly, Flashback also finds close matches when your spelling is off, and marks those results as a closest match rather than an exact quote.

The snippets are free — they cost no credits, on every plan including trials. Paging through them costs nothing either.

Ask AI

The AI answer is what submitting the box produces. It searches your recorded conversations, reads what it finds, and answers in plain prose — no separate button to press.

Cites its sources — every answer names the people it drew on and quotes the snippet each claim came from, with a link straight to their People file.
Read-only — Ask AI can only search and read. It never edits records, sends anything, or takes any action on your behalf.
Honest about gaps — if nothing in your recorded conversations answers the question, it says so rather than guessing.

Each question costs 1 credit. The snippets underneath remain free — the credit covers the AI reading and answering, not the search. Wondering what it can reach before you spend anything? Open What can Ask AI do? on the page — that panel is fixed text and costs nothing.

What Belongs on People Instead

Flashback searches speech, not records. If you're looking for a person by who they are — name, job title, company, email — use the People page search. Flashback is for when you remember what was said but not who said it: “who wanted to start after Christmas?”

Empty Results

“Nothing matching was recorded” means exactly that — the words you searched don't appear in any indexed call or meeting. It is not an error. Conversations only become searchable once they're recorded in Kolvera: dialler calls index automatically, and meetings index when they sync.

In the Assistant and via MCP

The same search is available as the search_conversations tool — the in-app Assistant can call it, and so can Claude or any MCP client connected to your workspace. Ask in plain language (“who was I talking to about referrals last week?”) and the tool runs this exact index behind the answer.

Privacy

Flashback respects your workspace's data isolation setting. In separate mode, teammates only see conversations attached to their own contacts — a colleague's call transcripts never appear in your results.
